Cost of Protecting Girls

In 2010, it cost about $23 to intercept one girl through our border monitoring work. We know this figure will increase in the coming years because we continue to add additional programs to our support system. There are, of course, additional costs, which we incur such as the cost to house these girls in our safe homes and our rehabilitation homes. Over all, the cost to care for one girl (from the interception to their returning home) is about $75 per girl.  Long-term care costs about $50 per month per girl.
